Martin Schmatz, born on 03 February 1976, is a member of the Executive Board of Delvag Versicherungs-AG and Managing Director of Albatros Versicherungsdienste GmbH since 01 July 2022. 

Martin Schmatz startet his career in 2005 at the Lufthansa Group as an expert in the Group Treasury. Until 2014, the Graduate in business informatics held various positions in the areas of finance and human resources, both in Germany and abroad. Most recently, from 2011 to 2014, he was responsible for the Lufthansa Group's company pension systems outside Germany. During this time, he implemented a global employee benefits strategy for the Lufthansa Group, among other things. 

In 2015, Martin Schmatz joined to the Delvag Group as Managing Director of the Albatros subsidiary Star Risk Services Inc. in Dallas, Texas where he was responsible for the development and implementation of a sustainable service delivery strategy for the US market.  

In November 2018, he became Head of Finance and Accounting, responsible for the finance division of the Delvag Group, which he has since decisively developed to meet the requirements of modern financial management at insurance companies. 

In January 2022, Martin Schmatz was nominated as General Representative for Delvag Versicherungs-AG and was appointed as a member of the Executive Board with effect from 1 July 2022.
